Q: Can I get a trial version of the FontExplorer X Server?
A: Yes. Please contact our sales team to make an arrangement.
Q: Can I purchase the FontExplorer X Server online?
A: Yes, you can purchase a server license for 10, 15, 20 or 25 users. See the purchase online page for more details. Please ensure that FontExplorer X Pro version 2.5 is used with the server.
Q: What are the technical requirements for the FontExplorer X Server?
A: The FontExplorer X Server runs on Apple® desktop systems (Mac OS® X 10.4.x, 10.5.x and 10.6.x) and servers (Mac OS X Server OS 10.4.x, 10.5.x and 10.6.x).
For larger installations a dedicated server is recommended.

Q: Does the software check whether I have a valid license for all my installed fonts?
A: FontExplorer X Server checks whether your fonts are distributed more times than the license allows. When there are insufficient licenses, a warning is issued solely to the server administrator. FontExplorer X Pro and FontExplorer X Server transfer no information externally concerning your font installation base or the fonts in use. FontExplorer X Server simply provides the user with the means to maintain license control – at any time, at a glance.
Q: Can I use the FontExplorer X Server to manage fonts from other foundries?
A: Yes. FontExplorer X allows you to manage fonts independent of licensor, manufacturer or designer.
Q: What libraries can I bundle when I license FontExplorer X Server?
A: If you are not purchasing a license online, you have the option to obtain three libraries: Linotype® Originals OpenType® 2.0, the Monotype® Library, OpenType Edition 1.0, and the ITC® Library, OpenType Edition 1.0. These are complete libraries. New fonts that may later be adopted into the Linotype, Monotype and ITC libraries are not included. However, licenses to new Linotype, Monotype and ITC fonts may be purchased through the integrated online store. Fonts from other collections may also be acquired and used with FontExplorer X, such as Linotype Platinum fonts, or any PostScript®, TrueType®, OpenType as well as customized typefaces.
